QR Code Reader
Upload a PNG, JPG, or WebP image and decode a QR code locally in your browser without sending the image anywhere.
Decoded result
The decoded value is shown as plain text. Links open only when the QR value is HTTP or HTTPS.
How to use it
- 1 Upload one PNG, JPG, or WebP image that contains a QR code.
- 2 Let the browser decode the QR content locally.
- 3 Copy the decoded value or open the link after reviewing it.
Useful for
- Reading QR codes from screenshots or downloaded images
- Checking whether a printed QR code resolves to the expected text or URL
- Decoding QR content without using a camera or external service
Good to know
- This first version reads QR codes from uploaded images only and does not use live camera scanning.
- Blurry, partial, rotated, or low-contrast QR codes may fail to decode.
- Only HTTP and HTTPS values get an Open link action. Other decoded text remains plain copyable text.
Questions
QR Code Reader FAQ
Does the QR Code Reader upload my image?
No. The image is decoded entirely inside your browser. Utilshub does not receive the file, decoded text, or any detected link.
Why did the reader say no QR code was found?
The image may not contain a QR code, or the code may be too blurry, low-contrast, cropped, rotated oddly, or partially blocked for reliable local decoding.
Can it scan QR codes with the camera?
Not in this first version. The current release is intentionally limited to uploaded PNG, JPG, and WebP images.
Does the Open link button appear for every QR result?
No. The button appears only when the decoded value is an HTTP or HTTPS link. Other values stay as plain copyable text.
